Morpheus: “The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you’re inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.”

Neo: “You think the Matrix is bad, I racked up a million frequent flier miles with the guilt trip my mother put me on when I moved out to go to college.”

Neo: “I have to learn how to read in binary code. I haven’t done anything this complicated since the first time I tried undoing a bra.”

Neo: “You know my ex-wife and her divorce attorney prepared me for the Matrix by showing me what it would be like to be sucked completely dry. Only instead of my money they’re taking my BTU’s.”

The Oracle: “As soon as you step outside that door you’ll start feeling better. You’ll remember you don’t believe in any of this fate crap—”

Neo: “Well, actually, when I was a little boy I lived next door to the Dali Lama, and after he caught me destroying his rose bushes he got me back by spiking my Halloween candy with bad karma. So maybe that’s why I’m walking around with an electrical socket in my head.”

Agent Smith: “I’d like to share a revelation that I’ve had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you’re not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You’re a plague and we are the cure.”

Morpheus: “You have so much stored up anger. You’re like the Fort Knox of negative emotion. I haven’t heard this much hostility directed towards one group of people since Hitler talked about the Jews, or the time I told my therapist about my family reunion.”

TRINITY: “Neo, you’re the one.”

NEO: “You know that reminds me of an old Groucho Marx joke, it goes, “I don’t want to belong to any species that would have someone like me as its savior.”
